Dr Parants
I received your letter the--------------- informing us that you was all m----- at that time we are -----in good health at------------------------be to God. We got a bill of fifty pounds on Halifax from Mr Ferguson and we both hired with him for a year to work on his farm and you need not expect us home this summer. We hired with him for 72 pounds and so of it in cash. You try and sell the bill in Pictou and if you can not sell it you will send it to Halifax by the post but if you do you must get Security for it- Now I hope you will be carefull how to manage about it. Try and get the interest of the not by paying the (-?--) cash.
We have in cash and timber about 40 pounds more which we will send by William McIntosh when he goes home this summer and you will do(?) your ---------out getting the deed fromCameron ------as it was by a great deal of friendship ----------the bill. You will not let John get hold of the deed as I understand that he means to kepe possession after we have---(?)--- of the farm yourself and Peter. Do your best about the land till we come home if God spares us--- If timber sells well we will perhaps send more than 40 pounds by Wm McIntosh.I trust that you will be very secure about the land. If you have it surveyed to have your compliment(?) of (?)eens. I trust it all to yourself to do it all according to law. I have no more to say only to give our respects to mother and sisters and
I remain your son
