James MacLean (1853-1895)

James MacLean, born 1853, died 1895, named after his uncle and mother's brother James Hamilton. He lived in Archibald Settlement, then by autumn of 1875 he was living in Black Land. He received the western half of the MacLean land purchased in 1873 from John McMillan. June 1876, James sold the property back to his father and in 1880, James and his family are in Marinette, Wisconsin. By Oct. 1883 they are back in Restigouche county and James petitioned for land in Sunnyside.(near Archibald Settlement) for which he obtained title in 1887.
